We’re proud to announce that, based on the results of the 2017 WICT (Women in Cable Telecommunications) PAR Survey, Scripps Networks has earned gold status in the Best Programmers for Women to Work category. Additional honorees in the category include NBCUniversal (platinum), Disney ABC Television Group (silver) and Discovery Communications (bronze).

“SNI has had a longstanding partnership with WICT and it’s an honor to be listed as one of the 2017 PAR Best Programmers for Women to Work,” says Crystal Washington, SVP of External Relations and Vendor Management. “Our company creates a culture that not only promotes and celebrates our female employees, but gives them the tools and resources they need to excel as leaders in our company and industry.”

The PAR survey gauges gender-related quantitative and qualitative employee data, and assesses the diversity and inclusion practices of participating companies. In all, survey respondents represented an impressive 67.5% of the overall cable workforce. The WICT PAR Initiative measures the status of women employees in the cable industry based on three main criteria: pay equity, advancement opportunities and resources for work/life integration.

“We are happy to say that we have a workforce made up of 56% women, one of the most diverse board of directors, and 50% of our management teams are female.  In addition, our top leaders like Kathleen Finch are consistently honored as top women leading the cable industry. We are proud of our company and the women who make it so great!” says VP of Diversity and Employee Relations Cassie Brown.

WICT will recognize the accomplishments of the PAR Best Companies for Women to Work at the 2018 WICT Signature Luncheon in New York on April 4.
