Destino Con Sabor hosted by Venezuelan Chef Grace Ramirez
NEW YORK – January 26, 2016 – Scripps Networks Interactive announced today its first pan-regional original commission for Latin America, Destino Con Sabor. Hosted by Venezuelan chef Grace Ramirez, Destino Con Sabor will explore the food, cultural traditions and heritage across Latin America. Destino Con Sabor, 16 x 30’, is due to premiere on Food Network across the region in Spring 2016.
“We are focused on growing our slate of original productions in Latin America, creating local content that resonates with the regional audience,” said Adriana Alcantara, Vice President of Marketing and Production, Latin America. “Destino Con Sabor fulfills this strategy – celebrating the culture and authentic cuisine of Latin America, while also providing new cooking techniques and original recipes.”
In Destino con Sabor, Grace will bring to life the diversity of Latin cuisine, meeting with local chefs, farmers and residents in the region. She will taste family recipes passed down by generations, try the best of the artisanal pop-ups, as well as sample the latest modern gastronomy trends. Seeking an emotional connection and culinary adventure, Grace will also cook up a dish inspired by her experiences at the end of each episode. Grace began her career in food television behind the camera, working as a producer and director on one of Food Network’s most popular series, Throwdown with Bobby Flay.
Production on Destino con Sabor has now wrapped; filming took place in key locations across Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru. Destino con Sabor is executive produced by Alcantara for Scripps Networks and Tatiana Issa and Guto Barra for Producing Partners.
