NEW YORK —February 5, 2015-- Brian Balthazar will wrap up his responsibilities as co-executive producer of The View this month to return home to HGTV. Balthazar, who left HGTV in 2013, will return to the home and lifestyle network as a vice president of programming in March. He will be based in the organization’s New York offices, reporting to Allison Page, general manager, HGTV and DIY Network. During his previous stint at HGTV, Balthazar shepherded such hit series as House Hunters Renovation, Selling New York and Island Hunters.
Balthazar’s previous roles include serving as vice president and head of programming at AOL, where he developed numerous digital series. He also launched the fourth hour of NBC-TV’s Today show with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. During his eight years at NBC-TV, Balthazar produced special hours and segments from all over the world including Milan, Tokyo, Berlin, Paris, and the Olympics in Athens and Torino. In addition, he spent many years as an entertainment journalist, appearing on Today, The Wendy Williams Show, CNN and MSNBC among others.
