CHEVY CHASE, Md. – Yearning for winter’s end and a little fun in the sun  Travel Channel’s “Beach Week” is the perfect remedy! From Sunday, February 15 through Thursday, February 19, the five-day multi-platform programming event is stacked with all-new premieres and sunny, beach paradise-themed programming to help melt away those winter blues and inspire the next getaway. The network event, kicking off on Sunday, February 15 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, is anchored by the premieres of two new nightly five-part specials: “101 Sand n’ Surf Hotspots,” a countdown of the best sandy destinations in the world with revealing insight into each location; and “SI: The Making of Swimsuit 2015,” a behind-the-scenes journey through the creation of the upcoming Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition and its 2015 featured locales. Plus, two back-to-back specials “Marianela’s Best Beaches,” showcases California and Florida’s glorious coastlines through the eyes of seaside adventurer Marianela Pereyra. Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Nina Agdal will host the sun-drenched “Beach Week” event, inspiring viewers to tune in all week long.

As part of the “Beach Week” celebration, TravelChannel.com will host its 4th annual “Best Beach Awards,” where a panel of experts will select the top beaches across 10 different categories. Fans can vote for their favorite overall beach from Sunday, February 15 through Thursday, February 19; the winner will be revealed on Friday, February 20.  Additional beach-themed digital content will complement on-air programming, including behind-the-scenes extras from “SI: The Making of Swimsuit 2015” and “101 Sand n’ Surf Hotspots,” interactive quizzes, travel guides, videos and more.  Plus, experience “Beach Week” across Travel Channel’s social platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, and share your best beach photos on Instagram using #TCBEACHWEEK for the chance to have your shots featured.

Each of the five specials takes viewers on location and into the closed sets where SI cameras capture the world’s most beautiful women amidst glamorous vistas and lavish landscapes.
