In her previous role as Scripps’ Senior Vice President of Affiliate Operations and New Media Distribution, Franklin managed the Comcast business relationship and worked with Scripps’ national accounts team and affiliates to identify and develop new distribution technologies and revenue streams for linear content. She was instrumental in the development and recent rollout of several TV Everywhere applications for Scripps Networks Interactive television brands. She also led the successful negotiation and subsequent distribution of the company’s content on Amazon’s Prime Instant Video service.
Franklin joined Scripps Networks Interactive in 2009 from Turner Broadcasting Systems, where she served as Vice President of Business Development, responsible for non-linear distribution deals with a focus on wireless distribution platforms. Prior to TBS, she served as Director of New Business Development and Strategic Marketing for Motorola, where she was responsible for the development of new business and partnerships for iDEN, Motorola’s wireless division. Prior to Motorola, Franklin was a consultant at Bain & Company.
Franklin is a graduate of NAMIC’s Executive Leadership Development Program (2007-08) and the WICT Betsy Magness Leadership Institute (Class 23). Most recently, she’s been named one of Multichannel News’ “Wonder Women,” one of Cynopsis Media’s “Most Intriguing People” and one of Savoy Magazine’s “Most Influential Women in Corporate America.” Franklin’s also been named to CableFAX’s “Most Influential Minorities in Cable” and “Most Powerful Women in Cable” lists, and has been honored as a NAMIC Luminary. She sits on the Women in Cable Telecommunications and Digital Hollywood Women's Entertainment and Technology boards.
Franklin earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Yale University and MBA from Harvard University. She is based at Scripps Networks Interactive’s headquarters in Knoxville, Tenn. where she resides with her two children, Miles and Camille.
