Scripps Networks Interactive continued to score high marks in June and all of Q2, while its digital division Scripps Lifestyle Studios is breaking video view records. The Studios has already exceeded 4.6 billion video views quarter-to-date, an increase of 370 percent over Q2 last year, and 1.6 billion video views month-to-date, an increase of 390 percent over June last year.
HGTV closed Q2 as the No. 2 primetime cable network among W25-54 and No. 6 among P25-54. It also notched its highest rated primetime second quarter in network history for M25-54. Rating drivers for the quarter included Brother vs. Brother and Mexico Life, as well as debut series Home Town, Beach Hunters, and Flip or Flop Vegas. The network finished June as the No. 2 primetime cable network among W25-54 and ranked No. 3 among P25-54. Additionally, HGTV ranked No. 1 with upscale W25-54 and No. 2 with upscale P25-54. 

For the quarter, Food Network ranked No. 10 among W18-49 and finished No. 8 among W18-49 in June. The debut season of Iron Chef Gauntlet, Season 2 of Food Network Star: Comeback Kitchen, and Season 3 of Spring Baking Championship led the quarter, each up 20 percent or more over last year. In June, Food Network Star ranked among the top 5 cable networks within the Sunday 9 p.m. time slot. 

Compared with last year, Travel Channel inched up three spots in cable rankings for Q2, and up two spots for the month of June. Ratings drivers for the period included Expedition Unknown, Bizarre Foods, and Booze Traveler, while new series Josh Gate’s Destination Truth surpassed year-ago levels by 20 percent. 

Second quarter tied DIY Network’s most upscale quarter ever, while June saw a 3 percent increase among M25-54, tied as the net’s highest June ever for that demo. Ratings drivers for Q2 included Texas Flip N Move, Pool Kings, and Building Alaska. In June, ratings for Season 5 of Barnwood Builders jumped 67 percent above the prior season average.
Cooking Channel enjoyed its second highest rated quarter ever, posting 6 percent gains year-over-year, marking the tenth* straight quarter that either grew or matched year-ago delivery among P25-54. New seasons of Carnival Eats and Man Fire Food were each up 20 percent or more over prior seasons, ranking among the top rated programs for the period.
Great American Country recorded its highest rated second quarter among M25-54 in ten years. Program drivers included Log Cabin Living (+5 percent over prior season), My Lottery Dream Home (+23 percent over prior season), and Going RV (+6 percent over prior season), which ranked as GAC’s top program of the quarter. Flea Market Flip is on track to its highest rated season ever, up 29 percent over the prior season.
