KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Oct 05, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Scripps Networks Interactive, in collaboration with the Knoxville Area Urban League and the Knoxville Chamber, will host the region's first Diversity Summit on Oct. 12. The summit will bring together a distinguished group of community, business and political leaders to discuss the value of a diverse community and workforce and explore strategies to enhance marketplace diversity in Tennessee's Innovation Valley (Knox, Anderson, Blount, Roane, Loudon and Monroe Counties).
The summit is an important step toward the first Diversity Champions Report. To be published in early 2012, the report will highlight and raise awareness of economic inclusion and its impact on the Innovation Valley region, and generate best practices to address inclusion in the workplace.

Luke Visconti, partner and co-founder of DiversityInc Media and author of the column, "Ask the White Guy," will deliver a keynote address, "Why Diversity Matters," and will moderate a panel of business leaders as they delve into Diversity: Workforce, Workplace and Community.

The invitation only event takes place Oct. 12, 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Scripps Networks Interactive's Knoxville headquarters.
