NEW YORK and KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – June 28, 2017 – fuboTV (fubo.tv), a leading live streaming TV service, today announced an agreement with Scripps Networks Interactive (Nasdaq: SNI) that will add several top U.S. channels to the company’s entry-level bundle.
As a result of a new, multi-year carriage agreement, Scripps Networks’ U.S. based brands HGTV, Food Network and Travel Channel will join the “Fubo Premier” line-up, which is currently available at an introductory rate of $34.99 per month. This includes access to each network’s live linear feed as of July 1, as well as on-demand content and the channels’ TV Everywhere “Watch” apps to follow and at no additional cost.
“Our world-class lifestyle content is a perfect complement to the fuboTV service and we are thrilled to partner with a sport centric OTT service to bring the best in class in home, food and travel programming that will delight and entertain their users,” said Henry Ahn, Scripps Networks Interactive’s president of content distribution and marketing. “This carriage deal further validates the ‘must have’ nature of Scripps content in an ever-competitive distribution landscape.”
Along with these new additions – and the five channels from CBS Corporation to launch in early July – the Fubo Premier bundle will now feature more than 60 sports, entertainment, lifestyle, news and information channels.
"Partnering with Scripps Networks allows us to round out our basic bundle nicely, complementing our core sports offering with some of the most popular programming on TV," added David Gandler, fuboTV co-founder and CEO.
Additionally, DIY Network and Cooking Channel will be made available to Fubo Premier subscribers as part of its add-on options at a later date. All channels on fuboTV can be found at fubo.tv/welcome/channels; and a list broken down by sports, entertainment & lifestyle, and news & information content, can be seen on this chart.
This news comes following fuboTV’s announcement last month that it has closed its Series C fundraising round, which included an investment from Scripps Networks Interactive.
fuboTV is a sports-first streaming TV service that brings subscribers over-the-top (OTT) access to a growing line-up of national channels and regional sports networks (RSNs) that hold rights to the most popular sports in the world. Officially launched in January 2015 as a streaming soccer service, fuboTV has evolved into one of the leading virtual MVPDs in the U.S., with its entry-level Fubo Premier bundle offering more than 60 channels, including 34 that carry sports, and bringing customers access to popular entertainment, news and information content that complements this core offering. It is available on desktop or mobile web via www.fubo.tv; on Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick; Android and iOS devices; Apple TV; Chromecast; Kindle Fire; Roku; and through T-Mobile’s Binge On. The company has raised a total of $75.6 million in funding to date, including a $55 million Series C round that closed in June 2017, led by Northzone, and including 21st Century Fox, Sky and Scripps Networks Interactive. Investors also include DCM Ventures, i2bf, Luminari Capital, LionTree Partners, Univision Communications Inc., Edgar Bronfman, Jr. (former Chairman and CEO of Warner Music Group), Chris Silbermann (founding partner, ICM Partners) and former NBA Commissioner David Stern.
