FEBRUARY 7, 2018 - Food Network is making its digital content a little more snack-able with the introduction of a new “Stories” feature for it’s “In the Kitchen” app. Stories, available for iPhone® and iPad®, gives users a seamless, interactive way to bring bite-sized cooking clips, recipe roundups and additional content to users’ fingertips.
From the In the Kitchen app homepage, users can scroll through a series of category panels that are updated daily, such as Trending, Healthy, Weeknight Warrior and Daily Bites.
As users click on articles and videos, they can discover tutorials, like a step-by-step how-to for “Avocado Egg-in-a-Hole,” swipe left to explore a roundup of “Must-Try Instant Pot” recipes and slideshows of recipe hacks and how-tos. The app will also feature videos from Food Network’s roster of chefs.
“We want our audience to connect with various types of content in a way that feels natural and authentic,” said Vikki Neil, General Manager of Scripps Lifestyle Studios. “Stories adds a new layer of interactivity to our already-beloved app, and allows us to quickly deliver material that resonates across demographics, inviting a younger generation to engage while still remaining loyal to core Food Network fans.”
In the past year, In the Kitchen has introduced more interactive video functions, augmented reality features, an iMessage extension, and more.
Food Network’s essential In the Kitchen app is home to over 70,000 recipes and is your one-stop shop for all things food. A top recipe app in the food & drink category on the App Store, users can get instant access to the most-popular show recipes from Alton Brown, Giada De Laurentiis, Ree Drummond, Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri and many more. Whether you need inspiration for your next meal or you’re looking for a recipe that's being made on TV right now, finding delicious recipes from your favorite Food Network chefs and shows has never been this quick and easy.
