Travel Channel's 'Man v. Food' Premieres with Winning Ratings

Travel Channel’s “Man v. Food” premiered with back-to-back episodes on Monday, August 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and posted strong gains over year-ago ratings in its time slot (+43%). The 9:30 p.m. episode was a top 20 cable show for the time slot among all demographic groups and attracted more than 960,000 viewers on Monday night.  New “Man v. Food” host Casey Webb is in search of gastronomic glory – crisscrossing America to conquer our country’s biggest and boldest eating challenges.

Discovery Communications to Acquire Scripps Networks Interactive for $14.6 Billion

Discovery Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: DISCA, DISCB, DISCK) ("Discovery") and Scripps Networks Interactive, Inc. (Nasdaq: SNI) ("Scripps") today announced that they have signed a definitive agreement for Discovery to acquire Scripps in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at $14.6 billion, or $90 per share, based on Discovery's Friday, July 21 closing price.

Scripps Networks Interactive, Inc. reports second quarter 2017 preliminary results

Second Quarter 2017 Preliminary Consolidated Results
Consolidated operating revenues for the second quarter of 2017 were $925.0 million, an increase of 3.6% over the prior year period. Advertising revenues were $663.0 million, an increase of 2.5%, and distribution revenues were $239.7 million, an increase of 7.3% over the prior year period.
