The ratings hot streak continued for Scripps Networks Interactive portfolio of channels during the month of April. Here are the highlights:
HGTV captured the top spot in cable among both W25-54 and upscale W25-54 in primetime. HGTV also finished April as the No. 1 cable network in weekends among P25-54 and W25-54. Ratings drivers for the month included Fixer Upper, Home Town, Hawaii Life, Island Life, and Lakefront Bargain Hunt.
Food Network’s top rated show for April was newest series Iron Chef Gauntlet, growing the time slot 33 percent over its year-ago delivery among P25-54. Additionally, the series is up 18 percent among W25-54, helping the net to secure a top-10 spot among ad-supported cable networks for the month.
Travel Channel continued to attract an upscale audience with its 8th consecutive month of year-over-year median income growth. Ratings drivers included Expedition Unknown, Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern, and Booze Traveler.
DIY Network’s latest season of First Time Flippers grew its P25-54 ratings by 20 percent versus the prior season. Other ratings drivers for April included Texas Flip N Move and Tiny House Big Living.
Cooking Channel ended the month as the highest rated, most watched April in primetime among P25-54 (+17 percent) and W25-54 (+7 percent). The highest rated original titles for the month included Food: Fact or Fiction? and Carnival Eats.
Great American Country grew its P25-54 primetime ratings by 13 percent, helping GAC record its highest rated April since 2007. Ratings drivers for the month included Going RV, Log Cabin Living, and Flea Market Flip.
