Position: Senior Vice President, Ad Sales, HGTV & DIY Network
Donna Stephens serves as Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales for Scripps Networks Interactive’s home category lifestyle media brands, HGTV and DIY Network. In this role, she is responsible for managing the advertising sales division for these brands, as well as generating convergent revenue for their respective online properties.

In 2003, Stephens was promoted to her current position and moved from Atlanta to New York.  Throughout Stephen’s career, recruitment and training have been her focus. She has been successful inbuilding a winning team that is dedicated, professional, strategic and focused.  

In 2000, Stephens joined the staff of HGTV as Vice President of Ad Sales for the Southeast region. Sheopened the Southeast regional office for HGTV and began recruiting excellent talent. Over the next three years, she built one of the strongest offices within HGTV. In addition, she worked to develop a training program for the support staff within the organization. This training program has helped with continuity across all of the HGTV offices. It has dramatically reduced errors and has empowered the support staff toexcel in their careers. Staff retention and staff promotion is at an all-time high.

Stephens began her long career in cable television in 1985 with The Family Channel. During her 15 years at The Family Channel and later The Fox Family Channel, she was instrumental in developing procedures and protocols for all levels of the business. She began in the Chicago office during the early days of The Family Channel. She worked tirelessly to train and develop the staff on sales techniques, pricing and planning guidelines, and strategies for developing the business as cable matured. In 1996, she was given the challenge to open a new sales office for The Fox Family Channel in the Southeast. At that time, shemoved from Chicago to Atlanta as VP of Ad Sales for the Southeast region. The Southeast Region became the cornerstone of the sales offices – billing more revenue than the Chicago, Los Angeles and Detroit offices.  

In 2014, Stephens was recognized as Cablefax Sales Person of the Year (National Cable Sales), and in 2015 was included among the Cablefax Top 100 Power Players.
