Knoxville-based Scripps Networks Interactive is looking for people to boost its social media and connect with younger viewers. Those contributors, under the name Scripps Lifestyle Studios, include Knox County resident Maria Antoinette Loggins.
“I like to call myself the modern-day Tinkerbell. I’m always tinkering with things,” said Loggins, a cosmetologist, who came to Scripps’ notice through her makeup, fashion and craft videos under the name Maria Antoinette.
As a digital content creator, she will contribute to HGTV’s Handmade social and YouTube channel, according to a Scripps news release. That means appearing on some HGTV Handmade videos, and occasionally taking over the channel’s social media for discussions on subjects like incorporating fabric in home decoration, Loggins said.
Scripps Networks already had channels including HGTV, Food Network and Travel Channel when, in 2015, it launched Scripps Lifestyle Studios to feature short videos on social media. In May 2017, those videos got more than 1.5 billion views, while the network had more than 550 million visitors online, according to a company news release.
