Travel Channel's Andrew Zimmern

The Scripps cable networks are telling a story of phenomenal ratings growth in the past year as the company launches its upfront.

The company includes lifestyle networks HGTV, Food Network, Cooking Channel, DIY Network, Travel Channel and Great American Country.

The Knoxville, Tennessee-based company -- formal name Scripps Networks Interactive -- announced a number of new shows, including projects from established Scripps stars, such as HGTV’s husband-and-wife renovators Chip and Joanna Gaines (stars of Fixer Upper"), “Property Brothers” Jonathan and Drew Scott (also seen on HGTV) and Food Network’s Guy Fieri.

Company executives also touted new research showing the prime-time lifestyle programming on its channels scoring well against competing genres, such as sports and news.
